Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Nishchint Upadhyaya, but I usually just go by Nish. I am a Quality Assurance Analyst here at Quantifi. I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato in the Summer of 2020. Having interned at Quantifi in the Summer of 2019, I joined the Quality Assurance Team as a full-time employee in January 2021. As a QA Analyst, my daily tasks include testing various enhancements made by our developers, developing test data, enhancing automated tests, and improving overall efficiency.
What is an interesting project you’ve worked on?
My most interesting project would have to be the overall testing of a new client which I have been working on since joining the company. The majority of my time has been invested in testing the various components that we have been adding along the way.
What do you like about Quantifi?
The best part of Quantifi for me has been the people I work with. Since day one, I have always been made to feel welcome. As we adapt to new technologies and software based on client requirements, work can get a little challenging at times. The patience and understanding of my fellow-employees has helped me adapt to these new technologies with much more ease, pushing me to get better at my daily tasks and become more efficient at what I do.
The best part of Quantifi for me has been the people I work with.
What motivates you to get out of bed for work?
Being praised when I work hard gives me a sense of accomplishment and makes me feel appreciated at this company. This gives me a drive to come in to work each day and work harder than the day before, knowing that I play a role in the success of the company.
What advice would you give to recent new entrants?
Be patient, be prepared and don’t be afraid to ask questions. Your co-workers might be busy from time-to-time with tight deadlines but they will always try their best to make time to help you out, so don’t be afraid to ask questions. The more questions you ask, the faster you will get into the flow of work and understand how the company’s product works.
How would you describe your day job to a child?
Say you buy a toy you love but when you get home, open it and start playing with it, you notice that it is not working as it should. You get upset because you were really excited and looking forward to playing with the toy. Don’t you wish someone would have checked the toy before it was sold so you got a working toy? That’s where my job comes in – I am responsible for making sure the toy is completely working and I catch anything that might be broken so it can be fixed before it is sold. I make sure that you get a working toy to play with and enjoy.
What is a fun fact about you?
I am really into soccer/football and have been a supporter of Liverpool FC for over 10 years. I try my best to never miss a game and wake up as early as 6.30am, at times, to watch a game due to my love for the sport and the club. Other than watching Liverpool, I also love to play various sports including soccer, tennis, ping-pong and more (except cricket unfortunately!).
